New drainage pump required by football club

The sale of a drainage pump is required to help a football club return to their ground.

Glastonbury Town Football Club has not been able to play at its Abbey Moor Ground since last November following flooding affecting the region.

The club's drainage pump also broke down – compounding the problem and making the surface unplayable.

Volunteers have spent the weekend cleaning up the stadium in preparation for the team's return.

But a new drainage pump will have to be bought before games can take place at the stadium again, reports This Is Somerset.

"The players and management are determined to return to the Abbey Moor Stadium as soon as possible to play their football and get Glastonbury Town FC under way once again," the news provider added.

Last month, it was announced that a new drainage pump station is to built to serve the town of Oshkosh in Winconsin to help it deal with problems of persistent flooding, reported the Oshkosh Northwestern.
