Netherlands plans dredging work

Dredging has been planned as part of a beach replenishment scheme in the Netherlands.

Tenders are currently being welcomed for the works in Rijswijk and so far four parties have expressed their interest, Dredging News Online reports.

The project may require dredge pumps to be hired as it will see sand removed from numerous areas and then distributed along the shore.

Work will be divided into lots, the publication stated and the proposal is at present only at the contract award phase.

It is noted that the value of the venture is 26.9 million [22.5 million] and those who would like to be considered need to contact J C Devilee.

Labour will include reallocating sand from specific areas to the waterfronts of Ameland, Egmond and Bergen.

Elsewhere, discussions were recently held concerning the plans to deepen the Lower and Outer River Elbe in Hamburg in order to allow large container ships to access the Port from the North Sea.ADNFCR-3039-ID-19909806-ADNFCR
